What will a folding ruler with your logo look like? How much will 50, 100 or 500 pieces cost? And where on the product can your artwork be printed?
These are exactly the questions answered by the Metrie.cz online promotional printing configurator. In one place, you can select a product, choose the required version and quantity, create your own print design, and immediately see both a preview and the price.
We developed the configurator so that much of the preparation of a promotional product can be handled easily online – without lengthy discussions about basic product variants, printable areas or the positioning of your artwork.

From the manufacturer directly to your own design
Metrie is not simply a reseller of promotional products. We manufacture folding rulers, wooden rulers and other wooden products ourselves at our production facility in Loštice, Czech Republic, and promotional printing is part of our own manufacturing process. Depending on the specific order, we use technologies including pad printing and digital UV printing for our folding rulers.
The configurator is therefore based directly on the products we actually manufacture. For each model, it works with the specific available versions and printable areas. For example, the Block 72 folding ruler is available with different scale configurations and different printable areas for digital and pad printing, depending on the selected version.
What can you do with the configurator?
The main advantage is that you do not have to simply imagine what the finished product might look like. You create your own design directly on the actual product.
You can:
- select a product and an available version,
- choose a colour or product configuration,
- enter the required quantity,
- view the available printable areas,
- upload your own logo or other artwork,
- add your own text,
- adjust the size and position of individual elements,
- create different designs for individual printable areas,
- see the price update as you configure the product,
- and add the finished customised product directly to your shopping cart.
The configurator currently includes products such as folding rulers, wooden rulers, carpenter’s pencils and wooden spatulas.
How does creating your own print work?
1. Select a product
Start by selecting a product in the online configurator. For folding rulers, you can choose from different models, lengths and colours. The configurator also shows the currently available variants and prices.

2. Choose the quantity and printable area
Once you open the configuration, enter the required quantity. Depending on the product, the configurator then displays the areas where printing can be applied.
On some folding rulers, for example, these can include both side surfaces or individual areas on the outer sections. You therefore do not need to determine in advance where your logo can be placed – the configurator shows you the available options.
3. Upload your logo or add text
You can upload your own artwork to the selected printable area. Once uploaded, it appears directly in the product preview.
If you only need a name, website address, telephone number or another text element, you can create the text directly in the configurator without preparing a separate graphic file.

4. Adjust your design
An inserted logo, image or text can be moved within the printable area and resized. Alignment tools are also available.
For products with several printable areas, you can create a different design for each area – for example, a logo on one side and contact details on the other.

5. See the price as you configure
The price is updated as you create your configuration. This means that while preparing your design, you can see not only what the finished product will look like, but also how much it will cost for the selected quantity.

6. Add the finished product to your cart
Once you are satisfied with your design, add the configured product to the shopping cart and continue to checkout.

The configurator as both a preview and a production specification
The online design tool has another practical advantage: it clearly shows what is to be printed and where the artwork should be positioned on the product.
If you have professional print-ready artwork, it can be used for the subsequent preparation of the print. The configurator then serves as a clear visual specification of the required result.
If you do not have professionally prepared artwork, you can still create and test your design. Simple text can be created directly in the configurator, and a standard image file can also be used for a basic visualisation.

Although folding rulers are one of our main products, the Metrie configurator is not limited to them.
